Let me explain-

Obedience is an actual position that we stand in !.. it is not just an action or behavior that is fleeting and then it is over.  The act of obedience will position you in the right place at the right time.. doing the right thing !!.. which will result in the perfect will of God for your life!

Imagine that.. the perfect will of God for our lives !  What are the limits for a person who will obey God … BECAUSE HE IS GOD !.. and it is right !

We don’t have to be perfect… we simply have to obey !

Those 4 letter words from the Bible ( Obey, Give, Love… )

When we take a POSITION of obedience.. we have made a decision to stand for what is right and yield to the living God ..  Acknowledging Him as Lord and not just Savior!

The church as a whole recognizes the need for the Savior and readily preaches and declares it.. but what about Him as Lord!..  that requires OBEDIENCE .. we must take a knee and yield to His will for our lives !

In football the coach tells the team “take a knee” it means he is going to speak to them it is  time to listen and get the instruction for the next thing !!  If only we would ALL take a knee !!!

Every action that we take in the natural actually positions us … either for blessings or ??

Psalm 91

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

² I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;

My God, in Him I will trust.”

³ Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler

And from the perilous pestilence.

⁴ He shall cover you with His feathers,

And under His wings you shall take refuge;

His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

⁵ You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,

Nor of the arrow that flies by day,

⁶ Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,

¹⁵ He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble;

I will deliver him and honor him.

¹⁶ With long life I will satisfy him,

And show him My salvation.”

This scripture shows us that he who Dwells = to take a seated position,( yielded, submitted, POSITION) continue, endure, remain establish habitation, inhabit, dwell !

If you dwell in the Secret Place = Place of protection, a hiding place, a covering of protection !

Shall Abide = Remain permanently ! A permanent position !

Under the Shadow= under His shade or shadow of defense !  Close enough for His shadow to be over you !

Do you get it….

“ A righteous mans steps are ORDERED of the Lord”.. not inquired.. ORDERED ..PREORDAINED.. HE ALREADY HAS THE PLAN !!.. WALK YE IN IT !

A righteous man = one who stands right with God !

His blood has made us righteous .. but it is up to us to remain in our ordained place !!  We do this through OBEDIENCE !

WHAT GIVES US THE RIGHT TO BELIEVE ??

KNOWING WE ARE WHERE WE BELONG- DOING WHAT WE ARE CALLED TO DO- AND DOING IT HIS WAY AND ON HIS TIME TABLE !

WHEN THIS BECOMES YOUR LIFESTYLE DEVOUR WILL NOT FIND A PLACE !   AND ALL THE BLESSINGS OF GOD ARE YES AND AMEN!!

“And HAVING DONE ALL TO STAND … STAND !!!

¹⁰Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. ¹¹Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹²For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of ?the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. ¹³Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

LET US NOT BE LIKE THE WATERED DOWN VERSION OF THE TRUE AND LIVING GOSPEL OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ... WHO STAND ON A FOUNDATION OF SELF WILL QUOTING A GOSPEL THEY DON’T TRULY LIVE… PRAYING TO A SAVIOR THEY WILL NOT YIELD TO AS LORD… BUT EXPECTING THE PROMISES OF THE OBEDIENT!!  USING SCRIPTURES ON GRACE AS AN EXCUSE FOR SELF WILL AND COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR THE WILL OF GOD !!

KNOWING THAT DISOBEDIENCE IS A WILLFUL ACT THAT CAUSES US TO WALK OUT FROM UNDER THE SHADOW AND ON OUR OWN PATH !!

GRACE IS NOT PERMISSION TO LIVE A LIFE OF SELF WILL AND SIN… IT WAS WHAT WAS PAID AND WAS GIVEN TO US SO WE DON’T HAVE TO !!!!

WHO HAS BEWITCHED THEM…THE DEVIL  ?….OR  PREACHERS WHO DON’T PREACH THE TRUE GOSPEL ?… WELL THE DEVIL IS DOING WHAT THE DEVIL DOES.. UNFORTUNATELY ALOT OF PREACHERS ARE SAYING WHAT THE DEVIL DOES AS WELL !!  Jesus did not die for His church to be a people of mediocrity and complacency ruled and dictated to be the whims of the devil and self will… all the while calling it the gospel… OMG PEOPLE — A CALL IS GOING OUT….. THERE IS A SOUND IN THE ATMOSPHERE !!!!!

LET ALL THE RIGHTEOUS PREACHERS STAND AND BE HEARD LIKE NEVER BEFORE… AND THE REST OF YOU WHO PREACH A MEDIOCRE AND LUKE WARM NEGOTIATED VERSION OF THE SUPPOSED GOSPEL  … GO GET A JOB !

THERE IS A GENERATION OF THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD THAT ARE RISING OUT OF THE DEBRIS OF WHAT THE BODY OF CHRIST HAS ALLOWED ITSELF TO BECOME !!  … THOSE FROM AMONG YOU !!!!….. THE REMNANT !!

FOR THE EARTH IS GROANING FOR THE MANIFESTATIONS OF THE SONS OF GOD……… DEAR GOD…. SOMEBODY MANIFEST AND LET GOD BE GOD AGAIN IN HIS CHURCH !!!!!!!

One of the greatest things I have learned in the last few years is that our own change is necessary for who we have not yet become to come to pass.  I know it sounds really easy to understand but walking it out is very different.  We all want a greater tomorrow … we must understand that who we are right now only got us this far.  If we want to have a great tomorrow CHANGE HAS TO COME… The problem is we think everything around us has to change.. That is what I thought… WHAT I FOUND ….. I HAD TO CHANGE !!

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE WRONG TO HAVE TO CHANGE…. JUST WANT MORE !! More of anything…. BUT FOR ME I WANT MORE OF GOD !!  Don’t get me wrong the presence of God is on me daily.. I live for Him… Love Him… and am anointed by God !!  BUT THERE HAS BEEN A STIRRING IN MY SPIRIT FOR MORE !!!  I WANT WHAT HE TOLD ME I COULD HAVE AND BE !

GOD IS LOOKING FOR A PEOPLE WHO WILL BREAK THE BARRIERS OF THE LAST GENERATION… (HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AGE…I’M AM LOOKING FOR JOSHUAS AND CALEBS WHO STILL BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUE AND THE TENACITY TO RUN THEIR MOUNTAIN!)I AM TALKING ABOUT THOSE WHO ARE CHURCHED TO DEATH !! LITERALLY !!  THEY EITHER SHOW UP LIKE ZOMBIES TO HEAR A SPIRITLESS MESSAGE…TO GO HOME TO A LIFELESS EXISTENCE AND CALL THAT CHURCH!!!  OR THEY DON’T SHOW UP ANY MORE!!!

….. WHERE IS THE LORD IN ALL OF THAT !!  WHERE IS HIS PRESENCE THAT CHANGES US… HIS SPIRIT THAT GIVES US FIRE, PASSION AND THE BOLDNESS TO BE A WITNESS…

THERE IS A NEW SOUND IN THE ATMOSPHERE…. IT IS GOD !!!  HE WANTS HIS CHURCHES BACK !!

NO MORE BASTARDIZED VERSIONS OF THE GOSPEL !!  HE WANTS HIS WAY IN HIS HOUSES… HIS MINISTERS TO ACTUALLY KNOW HIM AND SPEAK FOR HIM  (NOT RELIGION)…. HE WANTS TO MANIFEST IN POWER AND DEMONSTRATION AND HAVE HIS WAY !!! HE WANTS TO BREATH ON US AND CAUSE LIFE!!!!!!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CHURCHES WHO HAVE A FORM OF GODLINESS BUT LACK THE POWER THEREOF ???     GOD IS NOT THERE!!

WHERE THE LORD IS THERE IS LIBERTY , PEACE, JOY, DELIVERANCE …. YOU CANNOT LEAVE  GOD OUT OF HIS OWN  CHURCH….AND TELL THE HOLY SPIRIT HE IS NOT ALLOWED TO MOVE OR SHOW UP AND THEN CALL THAT CHURCH !!

ONE THIRD OF THE GOD HEAD IS THE HOLY SPIRIT !!!  THEY CRY FOR JESUS WHO SAVES BUT THAT IS AS FAR AS THEIR EXPERIENCE WANTS TO GO !!  THEY CALL HIM SAVIOR BUT NOT LORD!!  TO CALL HIM LORD YOU MUST BOW YOUR KNEE … NOT JUST CRY FOR THE BLOOD!  BOWING YOUR KNEE MEANS SURRENDER TO HIS LORDSHIP… HIS WILL FOR YOUR LIFE… HIS WAY… HIS EVERYTHING!  … I’m not my own I’ve been bought with a price. It is no longer I who live… but Christ who lives IN me….. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live, not I , but Christ lives in me: and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me !

I AM SO TIRED OF HEARING PEOPLE SAY THEY ARE PRAYING… PRAYING… PRAYING.. OMG ….DO SOMETHING!!!

ACTIVATE AND REQUIRE !!  ACTIVATE AND REQUIRE !!  STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND ACTIVATE THE NEED FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT TO SHOW UP FOR YOU!!  He said if you put it in you ..when you needed it He would bring it out of you !!  GET IN A CHURCH THAT FIRST OF ALL KNOWS GOD !!!  BELIEVES IN SALVATION THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST…. HAS THE MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE PRESENCE OF GOD IS THERE!!  ( where 2 or 3 are gathered in my name there I am in the midst of thee… name there means authority!!.. He gets to be the authority when we gather!)

ACTIVATE -WHAT IS IN YOU !!  IF NOTHING IS THERE, GET IN AN ENVIRONMENT OF HIS PRESENCE… HIS PRESENCE WILL ACTIVATE YOU…. YOU CHANGE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD!!  HOOK UP WITH A CHURCH WITH VISION AND PASSION FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD!!  LIVE FOR A CAUSE BIGGER THEN YOUR OWN!!  YOUR LESSER WILL BE CONTAINED IN HIS GREATER!!

REQUIRE- HIS PRESENCE … WORSHIP BUILDS A PLACE IN US FOR GOD TO INHABIT !!…BELIEVE HIS WORD!! …. FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD… SO DO SOMETHING THAT REQUIRES GOD TO SHOW UP !!!  HE SAID HE WOULD FOLLOW HIS WORD WITH SIGNS !!  BLESSINGS SHOULD BE FOLLOWING YOU !  NOT FOR YOU … SO YOU CAN BE A BLESSING.  YOUR BLESSING IS SECURE IN YOUR COVENANT WITH HIM… DEAR GOD COULD WE CARE ABOUT WHAT GOD CARES ABOUT…. PEOPLE.. SOULS..!! HIS KINGDOM !!

IF WE WOULD CARE ABOUT WHAT HE CARED ABOUT…. WE WOULD WALK IN HIS BLESSINGS DAILY!!  Matthew 6 read all of 6 but vs 33 says  ..But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all of these things will be added to you .

I just want to tell you today ….. IT MIGHT BE ALL TRUE…. BUT….. FOR THE MERCY OF GOD !!

Without him it might just be but with HIM we can do all things !! HE IS THE GAME CHANGER !!

This is about His ability ..not yours !!  Fall into His arms and thank Him for His Mercy… even when we don’t deserve it !! Cry out to the living God and watch what He can and will do with your mess !

I have seen God do the most remarkable things in people’s lives, including my own.

We all have a story… but if the end is … I was this way…. BUT THEN MERCY REWROTE MY LIFE !!!

I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have had those thoughts through the years.. ( I don’t know anyone who hasn’t)  but I also have watched God forgive me when I didn’t deserve it.. fix my results of poor decisions.. restore me when I did everything right and it still blew up..

Let’s face it stuff happens …your fault or not.. GOD IS THERE… waiting to be invited into the situation to render things right !!

He is not looking for perfection in you… He is looking at your heart.  If your heart is not right.. nothing ever will be !!  But if your heart is right before Him and you are trying , whether the mess is your fault or not .. HE WILL SHOW UP FOR YOU ..EVERY TIME !

However, when He comes He puts things in order.. which will cost you your disorder.

His Mercy is poured out to you and His presence restores you…. so what are you waiting for… Cry out to the LIVING GOD !!

His name is JESUS.. He will be so glad to talk to you.

We all fall short.. BUT FOR THE MERCY OF GOD !!

Too often people judge others and themselves by … what they do to make a living. It is usually one of the first questions people ask any new acquaintance .  Some how in our minds it is important to know …unfortunately it is usually to categorize the person before ever moving forward to know them.  Normally it is asked by a person who finds pride in their occupation or a qualifying question as a vetting process by a possible suitor.  Either way it is a very shallow way to categorize anyone for several reasons..

You can not limit your information to what they do… it is much more important to know WHY they do it !!

I cannot tell you how many times I have been blown away by people who I thought were of value due to title, position, job description, education, etc… only to find that many times that is all they were !!

I absolutely believe in succeeding to the fullest of who you are…. without a doubt… but my point is… success in a person’s life cannot be measured by anyone else’s life !!!

True success is to be a great _______  !!  You and God are the only ones that can fill in the blank !!!  All of us were born to be great and have giftings accordingly.  But what we consider great is not always accurate.

God is the one who created you with a purpose in mind… and put the ability to be that on the inside of you before you were born.  It is our job as we grow to develop those God given talents and abilities… and walk in the fullness of our destiny.

There is no better feeling in the world than to do what you were born to do !!!

That is why it is impossible to define a person by what career or job they have !!!

How many people today do not have the job or career that is consider successful ?… by what measure !!!

Success is walking in your Purpose……why you were born !!!

God needs us to be the people we were created to be and walk in the fullness of that , so He can direct us and use us to fulfill the purpose we were born !!!  If you do not have Character, Excellence, Integrity ….. as a person, then it doesn’t matter what you do …… you still fail !!!

You are just an empty version of your job title and you have missed why you are here !!

Your purpose should be the way we choose everything… everything we do and how we live.

OUR PURPOSE WILL TAKE US TO OUR DESTINY.

Who you were born to be and what God needs you to become should be why we breath every day !!! If we are on that path, we will absolutely be able to be USED by God in every area we have made available to Him.

When this life is over we will not hear about how successful of an attorney, doctor, business person, CEO or anything else.. Your last big deal or great natural feat will not be brought up…. What will be brought up is how you used your position, education, title, reputation etc… to further your God given PURPOSE on this earth !!!  We will give account for our works !!  But not the ones we wanted to do …. what we were born to do !!!

All of these things are simply our USE while we are here !

How empty it would be to judge and measure the quality of a person by their current job description !! What about all those who in the last few years have lost their careers, jobs, titles, money !!!  What defines them now !!

What a shallow way to decide !!  Unfortunately it happens all the time.  People with great titles doing things below what society deems right, and because of it.. words like failure haunt the minds of those involved.

I have far more respect for a person who in spite of events in life, have chosen to press forward and redefine all, by doing what it takes to continue.. get past this season in their lives… and move forward to reposition themselves.  And so does God!!!  None of that determines your PURPOSE !!

Do not confuse the two…. Your purpose is everything... and all the other stuff is simply how and what you use at the time to fulfill your purpose.  Your use can and will change through your life but your purpose should always remain !!

It is easy for those of us who have been in ministry for years to understand this.. God doesn’t care how many degrees you have or how expensive your  preaching clothes…your excellence in your oration skills….He will call you to a foreign land even for a short time, where your face melts off so make up is out of the question…water to drink is extremely hard to find and bathing is a luxury!!  Working in extreme heats for 16 hours plus a day doing whatever needs to be done…preaching, praying, building, cooking, whatever… and then rewarding you with a concrete slab to sleep on and food that you need to pray over just to get past your lips !! ( God makes sure we don’t get full of ourselves and forget we are here for… people!! Of course for those who have chosen Him.. but also to a lost and dying world that do not know Him yet !! Especially in our own country !)

To top it all off the torn feeling when you think your body cannot take another minute and you get to go home.. being completely torn and not wanting to leave !!!

When you are walking in the things you were born to do there is no greater feeling in life…even when it feels like torture to do them at the time.  The fulfillment in your heart is immeasurable !!

I thank God for all of our training and the lives we have lived !!  With all the Titles, Degrees, etc… It is all for nothing if it is not coupled with being willing to be used by Him wherever and whenever He needs us. He can USE all of that and us any way He needs to…. so our PURPOSE is fulfilled !!

Your goal should be to be in a place where your USE benefits and fulfills your PURPOSE !!

Utilize every tool you have… education, career, job, etc..be willing to do anything that needs to be done and watch how God will promote, prosper and increase your life.. but when He does it , it is with fullness of ALL not just what you work for !

WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS THIS… FIND YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE…WHY GOD CREATED YOU AND YOU WILL FIND TRUE JOY..

AND WHEN GETTING TO KNOW YOURSELF AND PEOPLE, INSTEAD OF WHAT THEIR TEMPORARY USE IS …

GET TO KNOW THEIR PURPOSE..

IT WILL BE EASY TO FIND IN THEIR CONVERSATION….

IT IS WHERE THEIR PASSION IS !!!

If you do not know what your purpose is and why you are here… there is only one way to find out… get to know Him and He will show you !!!

One thing for sure you should know… the starting place to all of this is the Cross !!

We will never know God without Jesus ….. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life !!

He is the game changer and the beginning to the most wonderful road of enlightenment… peace …. and true joy !!!

I SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE….

With all that is going on in our country today It would be foolish to think that it would not have a rippling effect that is tearing through all areas of our lives.  Let me give you an example…when someone loses their job there is of course the immediate understanding you have to now come up with another source of income…but there also comes with that many farther reaching and more long term issues that most people don’t think about, like..  The fear of not being able to find another job.. the embarrassment of losing the one you had..the effect it might have on your whole family structure, what about your kids , the house you might lose, on and on….. All of that is real but I want to talk to you about the real problem that arises out of this hopelessness millions are feeling !!  If they have not  already lost their job, there are millions who have taken pay cuts, and many more fear it will be gone tomorrow… What if…. What if… What if… Living in fear of What if is a Living Hell !!

The true defeat here was not the loss of  your job or stuff…. It is when you lost your FIGHT !!!

Stuff happens and will continue to if you are still breathing, you can always get more stuff ...but it is when we lose the dream we have lost the fight …and a life of mediocrity is inevitable at best !!!

Quit letting life kick your butt !!  Turn Around !!

I can hear you from here… how do I turn this around !!  Easy !!

The situation you are in right now is not where you are loosing the game.  It is in your position!!

The moment you bought into the fear ..you lost !!

We cannot properly reposition yourself for success if you allow or own defeat!!

From a position of these two mindsets ( Fear or Defeat ) there is no way you can reposition yourself for your victory !!

You need to ask yourself if this is how you want to live the rest of your life… if not.. Turn Around !! I know you are thinking right now if you could have you would have, and you have already called me a few choice names…. my response to you is.. I know from which I am speaking !!!!!

No  situation can defeat a person who has decided to win !!!

It is merely a time to reposition yourself in this new climate you now live in !!

Life is going to happen, we cannot make the entire world market submit to us personally and give us everything we deserve !!  But… we sure can reposition ourselves to make our life what we have dreamed it can be…quit waiting for the world to right itself and give you what you think it should !! ...get up and go get it !!

If you still have breath in your lungs …. It is not over… You are not dead or done !! Quit submitting to defeat and fear …. Turn around and kick their butt !!

First thing is stop the wound licking… no one who feels sorry for themselves ever win !!

Next , sit down and get a true representation on where things really are.  Not a distorted view through fear and defeat… these always exaggerate  a thing and make it appear utterly hopeless… which is a complete lie !!  This is where you might need a friend who isn’t an enabler..other wise you will both just be sitting there with tissues feeling sorry for yourself.  I truly recommend an advisor that your problem seems small to !! You can’t talk to someone about hundreds of thousands if thousands is a a lot to them.  I don’t care if you have to pay a good financial problem solver …. get a view that can see the answer and success !!!

Be willing to change !!! This is a biggie… most people just want to complain about things but are not willing to change something to build a new tomorrow!  Those people will never achieve their dream !!!  You can !!! Who cares if you have to get more education or training for a new field.  We should be learning the rest of our lives !!!

Make a Plan !! This can be an exciting time for you… being able to sit down and dream again !!!  How fun this journey will be will be decided in these moments.  Come into your plan with fresh eyes… not through the lens of your last defeat !!  Do not look back…..

Don’t let your past experience decide your next one !!! Look forward… make a plan… and walk it out !  What is your other option ??

…. there were four lepers outside the city walls.. times were REALLY bad.. the city was starving to death so there were no scraps for the lepers..(sound familiar)  It didn’t get more bleak then the life of a leper in a long season of drought !!! They had to live off of the leftovers of others.  They were literally dying of hunger when one of them (Thank God for someone who is not willing to stop) told the others lets risk everything and go to the encampment of our enemies which is right outside the city to see if we can find anything to eat !  They were literally risking their lives because first of all they were heading straight into the enemy’s camp and because of their situation would be stoned on sight to begin with … either way it looked like a lose – lose !!

NO GUTS NO GLORY !!!

Do Not Be Afraid Of New Harvest Fields !!!

… but one has some sense and declared it is better just to go try then to sit there and DIE !!  Either way the result is no worse.... but it could absolutely be an answer !!  When they got up and started walking ….

The Lord multiplied their footsteps.. and the enemy heard an army instead of four lepers... they fled their camp and not only did the lepers eat and had plenty.. they told the city and now all of them had abundance !!!

The absolute most important thing needed is God !!

Obviously we can make plans and try to live them out.  There are millions who have done that and failed.  The difference here is when you add The Lord to the mix… Success Is Inevitable !!!  … I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers !!

He wants you blessed… but your soul needs to prosper !!  Change your mind !!

When He is in your life … I mean really …. not a visitor ! He will bring the mountains down low…the valleys up high… and make the crooked places straight…

He is a multiplying God.. He will multiply what you give Him… EVEN YOUR FOOTSTEPS OF FAITH  … Moral to the story !!

He will make a way where there was no way… bring Him all your broken pieces and let Him begin to sculpt you new !!!

I covered an overview of this topic on my last blog please read it if you have not yet and then continue with this one…

We can see how this has and can effect people on the large scale, but how about you individually.  How does this kind of mindset show up and not be recognized by the person who’s life is forever altered and unknowing.

Just like V and I when we were young and saw no world outside of our own…we didn’t know we were in a self made box.. until we saw others outside of it !!!

Let me remind you of the meaning:

Definitions :

Institution = Established order, custom, permanent form of law.

Institutionalized = … to accustom a person so firmly to the care of supervised routine of and institution as to make incapable of managing a life outside of it.

Incapable = … lacking necessary ability, capacity, or power.  Unable to perform adequately.. make one incompetent !!!

Get it make one incapable..

We absolutely should be able to see after the last blog that of course  government and other powerful institutions are in fact very able to begin to take over what we should be doing for ourselves… and how having these institutions solve our problems and do our work for us is easier… But it comes with the hefty price of ..that which you tolerate will  dominate you !!! We give up a little bit of ourselves here and there and the next thing you know we forget who we really are… we have morphed into someone we no longer recognize.

As stated earlier the only one that deserves that kind of reliance …. is God Himself…!!! But He will have you change , learn, grow and succeed !!

Hard to watch but makes my point………………….

V and I had a family member that was a good looking, charming (literally charmed the pants off of almost everyone ) man whore !…. my statement was literal !!! He was raised in an environment that nothing had to be RIGHT, it only had to be GOOD ENOUGH and benefit him.

Selfish self absorbed people produce selfish self absorbed people.

When we are moved by what we want to do or do not want to do … instead of doing what is right, we have already set ourselves up to be people who live only for ourselves and self gratification.  These people are takers, not givers and their lives will reflect it !!! No good can come out of this mindset.

You need to care more about doing what is right ….CHARACTER…. then what is easy !!!!

As much of a con as this guy was… he was crazy likable and I loved him very much.  Maybe because he never did this stuff to me..  One day he came home with this beautiful bike for me.. I was in Jr. High and I had never had my own bike before ( a story in itself … some other time ) so I can’t tell you how excited and appreciative I was to this guy for that.  When I asked him where he got it for me the story changed 2 or 3 times… poker game… owed him money… and on.  I quit asking jumped on and never cared again.  He gave me something free !!!  It didn’t cost me anything and I get to keep it.  What a great feeling… right ??  I remember that he loved me very much, we would talk about all kinds of things and he would pick up the guitar and sing (very well I might add) and I just loved being around him.  He would bring home stuff all the time.. I don’t know why, he was not a giving guy but I think he loved me and loved my appreciation for him and my young adoration that he could get things that I otherwise would never be able to get on my own!!!  (sound familiar )

After a few years he moved to So Cal where he was from and things got worse for him.  He went from this kind of shuck and jive con behavior to prison within a few years.   He was housed in Old Folsom Prison.  This was not a joke.. that prison was awful.  So here was this person I loved that lived outside of every boundary  (in a negative way) never staying still too long now serving years in a hard prison.  My heart was sad but I knew his lifestyle caught up with him… so years went by….. and I mean years…. V and I were married had kids and they were in their teens… I get a call from him telling us he is getting out and could we come and pick him up.  I haven’t heard from this guy in years and only a few times since he went in but he knew we were in the ministry and asked for us to come.  Of course we went to pick him up.  It was several hours away and a long trip… I am saying that because once we pick him up it is several hours back in the car with him and all we could do is talk!!  When I saw him my heart was sad… this once pleasant faced, handsome man was now a hard faced aged person I could barely recognize !!  This is not the same guy… yes he looked similar or an older version and covered with tattoos.  (not throwing stones V and I had our share) It wasn’t his physical appearance … it was his soul..he was a broken man !!

We got him in the car and off we went…  trying to figure what to talk about… and then out of the blue he started to cry…. what !!  He never cried !!  He declared something that shocked me… I AM SCARED !! .. My mind was racing.. what of..did you make someone mad in there and they are coming after you… What, what are you scared of???? His reply blew me back….. I don’t know how to live out here !!! I have adapted to live inside but I am scared to death to live out here !!! For all these years I have been told when to eat, sleep, go to the bathroom…on and on.  I have not had one independent decision to make in years.  To survive I had to learn prison life, mindset, ways, culture and adapt my whole life to it.  I don’t know how to think any other way.  I don’t know how to make decisions for myself or the process to choose accurately !!! I DON’T THINK I CAN LIVE OUT HERE !!!

My thought was are you serious … I would be afraid of ever going back and you are afraid your not !!!

We spent the whole drive and the next couple of days talking and encouraging him about still being able to have a great future !!  But there was this resounding tone of fear.

Over the years I have seen this too many more times..But not just in those who have been in prison.. I have found those who have been incarcerated and imprisoned in their lives while living among us.  Either raised in an environment that created it or developed it through the life choices we made as we went.  Either way …. bondage is bondage !!!

He was physically out, but his mind was still in prison !!! Like so many people walking around today… so stuck in certain areas of their lives because they are in bondage in their own thoughts and behaviors !!!... He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captive, open prison doors for those who are bound…This is exactly what this is talking about.

There is a God who can deliver you out of this type of prison !!! We told him over and over…but how do you change the mind of a person in a few days when they have had years of it the other way !!!  He just couldn’t hear us.  He went back to So Cal and within a short time we heard was back in prison.  He had purposely gotten caught with a gun so he had to go back !!!  It broke my heart !!!  I began to study and understand being institutionalized.. and the devastating effects it has on participants!!  Over the years I have seen some of the most institutionalized people who have never once seen the inside of a physical prison !!  But institutionalized all the same !!! Some things are so intrinsically  woven into our thought patterns and behaviors we need someone who is not influenced by it to help point it out !!

Another way I see people deal with this is by personal destruction.. they just choose to die and not even try anymore.  There are many kinds of ways a person can die… but the walking dead is hard to watch.  I have watched people choose not to break free from things and live within the bondage of their box as it slowly chokes them to death. All hope for a great life, lost… no joy… no peace.. just breathing..not living !!.  We see a lot of this in abusive homes but some forms of abuse are never seen!

Jesus said…I have come that you might have life , and life more abundantly !!!

First I want to challenge everyone to check yourself !!  Sit down and look at your own life… are you recycling the same failures, lacks, relationships, problems, cultural limitations, family problems…

STOP THE CYCLE… You absolutely can change it all !!!  Let me introduce you to the one who can do it !! JESUS !!  … renew your mind according to the Word and it will change your life !!!  Get in a church that will teach you !!

That is why 1 of my 3 doctorate degrees is in – Applied Behavior/Human Development/ Sociology !!  ( a mouthful right )  By the way for those of you who wonder… All those degrees were earned the hard way !!  Dr. V and I spent 16 years of non stop study to finish all 3 of the Doctorates 2 of which we finished as Phd’s. My last dissertation was in 2001 and it was over 400 pages…. I don’t ever want to do that again.  I have thought of furthering my creds in the field of nutrition and health, since I have been studying this field now intensively for 4 years.. I spend at least 40-50 hours a week for about 4 years now and will begin to release info and that area also through this blog… If you notice we have degrees in the spiritual aspects of life – Theology, and in the mental or soulish ( mind, will , emotions ) of our life and in the past 4 years have expanded our information field into the physical health of our bodies !!  I just don’t EVER want to do another Thesis or Dissertation !! EVER !!

Back to my topic–

Let me begin by saying there are some great institutions out there.. ie, the institution of marriage etc…  Institutions are not the problem.. unless they are !  It is being institutionalized that is the problem.. If you read it .. it literally says ..to make someone incapable, lacking ability, capacity or power to manage outside it’s form !! To make one incompetent !!  I want you to see something here.. it does not say to allow one to be incompetent.. that would go without saying but this it to actually render or make people become incompetent !!!!

We see this over and over in certain areas of history and study…You would think we would have figured it out by now … this system does not work to help people and never has… By The Way… I want to quantify here that the study of Sociology in fact studies the results of all types of cultural issues including the results of all different social and economical effects on a society… However through those studies I want to make it known that one of the culprits of institutionalism on our and other societies is the ever creeping and ominous practices and results of Socialism !!!  It absolutely in every case I have studied has diminished the capacity of the people it has institutionalized.

Definition Webster - Socialism =  any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.

.. a system of society or group living in which there is no private property… a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state !!

Did you READ THAT !!! Go back and read it AGAIN !!

ONLY GOD DESERVES THAT TYPE OF POWER AND CONTROL IN OUR LIVES !!!

Let me show you something… how this has started to creep in our country and within the last year has started overtaking our country !!!!  SCARY !!!

In the 1930’s during the great depression we enacted a program called WELFARE.  We started it due to the extreme need at the time ( sound familiar ) and instead of people doing what the Word of God teaches us … the government enacted a social program that once started, appeared to relieve immediate need…( currently that hasn’t even worked that well ) a sigh of relief was heard by many I am sure … however, sometimes our reactions to a problem can actually cause a worse affect with longer lasting results than the problem itself !!

Do not get me wrong.. V and I have made it a lifetime job to help people in need.. we have given everything for this cause and will continue to do so !!!  However I give of my own free will… because it is what I have chosen to do by instruction of the Lord.  I do not want a person in office ( I don’t care what political affiliation ) dictating to me that what I work hard for is to be taken from me by them and distributed to people who I don’t know should have it.  That should be our choice… This is America Right… Land of the FREE !!  RIGHT !!  I am not talking about not paying taxes  ... render unto caesar what is caesars and render unto God what is God’s … I am talking about a mindset that has ruined whole cultures in our society !!!!

We do not owe our capacity to think and succeed outside of a governmental control to anyone or any thing !!!!

Let me tell you what has happened !!  We have created ( through our good intentions of help) a whole culture and social mindset of institutionalized people.. either by participation of the program itself or the imparted thoughts that it is the answer.. that everyone who does not have, deserves to be supported by those who do have !!  THIS IS NOT RIGHT !!!

Through the government stepping in and initiating long term care, or institution of welfare, we have ruined major segments of our society and don’t know how to change it !! At first it was just easier to let others do things for us and solve our problems.. and then we raised a whole generation under the mindset that it is how it should be…can you say INSTITUTIONALIZED.  I want to state that many during that time did in fact hold true to rightly held responsibility to change their future, and in many cases became a major part of the fabric of our society.

There is no shame in getting help… it is sad when it becomes an expected lifestyle.

Instead of teaching them to rely on a system and government for a lifetime… they should have been helped through a hard time with the training of how to get out and stay out of poverty and lack !!! All of us have had these seasons… but it is how we deicide to respond to it that has a long term affect on us. I do not believe in just feeding someone a meal or support them because they have been trained to remain that way !!  I believe that change comes from educating yourself out of  your situation.. I don’t mean with a degree … I mean …Jesus himself said..” I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health even as your SOUL prospers.”.. Your soul needs to prosper….We are doing no one any favors by training them to be institutionalized to any program.  It does not matter who is in office… We should be enabling people to prosper and succeed in life.  Dream big and make changes to bring them to pass !!!

THIS IS FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE HIT HARD TIMES …. STAND STRONG… GET HELP IF YOU NEED IT JUST LONG ENOUGH TO GET BACK UP AND FIGHT ANOTHER DAY… DON’T RELY ON ANYONE BUT GOD TO BE YOUR SOURCE.. I have never seen the righteous forsaken or His seed begging for bread !!

Remember – being rendered powerless, unable to perform adequately is no way to live !!!

I know this is going to make many angry !!!  But when we trust in any program, person or anything …. and put those practices and mindsets above God’s Word …WE ARE WRONG and INSTITUTIONALIZED !!!

Trust God and learn His ways and you will outgrow the need for all of this !!!!
