The Life Dr.

..It is  good to be home..sitting at my desk, looking out of my window watching the waves rolling into the beach and the sun rising over the horizon..there is nothing like it !!

I wake up very early and spend at least 2 to 3 hours alone with God and myself every morning.  This behavior has been the best thing I could have ever done for myself !! It allows me everyday to clear my head and regroup my efforts and goals.  It gives me time to challenge what has been and focus on what is next…. It allows one of my favorite scriptures to be produced in my life…It is about a person who has had a whole season of hard things in their life but in spite of it..

….This I recall in my mind.  Therefore I have hope.

It is through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed.

Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning:  great is thy faithfulness.

The Lord is my portion says my soul therefore will I hope in Him.

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him and to the soul that seeks Him.

My life lately has been anything but bad..God has done one amazing thing after the other for me and it is blowing me away.. but it just makes me remember that the mercies of God are new every morning and in Him I have hope !!

How powerful… One thing I learned many years ago is that seasons are ever changing and even a fresh wind can blow out what needs to go and blow in what needs to be !!  Seasons in our lives are just that..the older you get the more you realize this.. some seasons are short term and some seasons are longer.  I am convinced that you can lengthen or shorten the seasons in your life by your choices and actions !! I also believe there are things in life that we must go through to be worth anything as people.

Many times people judge themselves and others by what they are going through….what have they done to bring this on… they must deserve it…on and on.  However, I have found through the years that sometimes that is true and many times it is not.

We should never measure ourselves or others by the challenge that they are faced with !!!  We are measured by what we do with the challenge we are faced with !!!

Some things come at us because we are alive and yes are many times tied to what we have allowed or aligned ourselves with !!! I guess what I am trying to say is it does not matter what season you are in …  His mercy is new every morning !!!

I have gone through really hard seasons in my own life and many times in the middle of them cannot see any purpose or value in any of it !!!  Hard seasons seem to last forever !!  I am the kind of person that when it gets tough, I go deep !!  I get quite and start looking…. is there something I am doing to draw this toward me… or keep it here once it showed up… Is there something I can do to shift my season… I begin to challenge everything to see if I am missing something or if I just need to rock steady and ride this wave !!.. knowing just like the waves of the ocean… this one will hit the beach and a new wave is already coming.

A couple of Sundays ago I walked into church …as is my custom (biblical reference for those who do not know) and this song rose in my spirit.  God uses my in prophetic song a lot !!  When I opened my mouth the Spirit of God started declaring …. A shifting wind… a shifting wind.. the atmosphere in the church completely changed and 45 minutes later when the Spirit of God lifted off of me… The Lord had declared a shift in our season in no uncertain terms.. The song was beautiful and anointed but more then that was what I had been crying out to God for.

A few months ago the Lord had us start a church here in Jacksonville …. with much prayer, fasting and confirmation we started on the date He instructed.. In March … Spring … since we had started it had been 3 months and V and I were just taking our time.  We have been in the ministry for 30 years so we know exactly what to do… but this time God had made it clear we were to build a church that we had never built before..  It is a new time… new season… new location and the we were not to imitate what we had done, but seek Him for what He needs us to build here and now !!!  So we did exactly that… we did not want to jump into what we knew to do because it worked in the past.

It is so important that we realize …..everything you have been through is training for what you are about to be.  Good or bad.. if you were right or wrong…it can all be used for your future !!  Either as the path to take you forward or the learning process to never go that way again !!

Either way it is earned information and can help you navigate through your journey !!!

…back to my story…so the last few months in one way has been just amazing by what God has been doing for us and in us..but the frustration has been the slow movement with the beginning of the church… I HAVE A WHOLE LIST OF WHAT I THOUGHT WE SHOULD BE DOING..but there was this pause…and unless God build the house those that labor labor in vain.

One of the worst things we can do is tell God how to do something !!

After that sunday morning God spoke so clear, I had to fly out and was gone until now… but during that time so much has become clear !!  Sometimes you have to get away from everything long enough to clearly see !!

One of the things that God has so clearly shown me is that sometimes He wants to bless you before He wants to use you to bless others !!

If God cannot bring fullness of restoration to those who minister His Word…how can He use them to bring fullness of restoration to those they minister to !! The book of Joel and many other scriptures confirm this and declare this is how it will be in the end times…

He has also blown some things out with that wind and has already blown some new things in !!!!  Glory to God !!  That is what I  meant earlier ... you might be in the same season but God will blow on you in that season and change the direction of everything…. be willing to hear and be led !!!  …for even though it seems delayed wait for it for, it is not late…it is right on time !!!

I pray today that you test your season and make any changes needed to move into your next season.  But if you are in the right place at the right time…. I pray a fresh wind of God in your face to blow out what needs to go and blow in what needs to be !!!
